ABOUT THE PROJECT
Pakistan is a country of ancient civilizations and diverse culture heritage, which needs to be preserved and promoted for future generations through education. Formal education plays an important role in developing children’s knowledge, skills and dispositions to appreciate diversity, promote social cohesion, and respect for cultural values for promotion of peace and stability in the society. Pakistan is a signatory to the Education 2030 Agenda/Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4). The target 4.7 of the agenda invites Members States to ensure that their education systems should equip the youth with knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to promote sustainable development, including education for sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, and promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence societies.
To this end, SAHE and Creative Frontiers joined hands to develop this travelogue for Humsafar as supplementary teaching material. This initiative aims at transmitting the knowledge of cultural diversity, values of pluralism, tolerance and mutual respect among children for a peaceful co-existence in the society.
